Planisferio Astrodiálogos Lickan Antay

Developed in the Atacama territory through collaboration between astronomy, education, design and Lickan Antay knowledge.

A sky chart situated in territory

The Planisferio Astrodiálogos Lickan Antay is an educational and cultural tool created by Fundación Astrodiálogos together with Aira Lay Lay, Estación Ckamur and Lickan Antay collaborators from the Atacama territory.

Like a conventional planisphere, its rotating disks reproduce the changing sky for a chosen date and time. This version is adapted to the sky of Toconao and incorporates dark constellations, cultural references and material that connects astronomical observation with landscape, memory and local knowledge.

The project was coordinated by Gabriel Ruete and Sebastián Pérez, who worked on its conception, research and editorial development. Graphic design was developed by Camilo Núñez Díaz.

Presentation and first use

The planisphere was presented during an open community event in Toconao. The programme included astronomy talks, an immersive introduction to dialogue between scientific and Lickan Antay knowledge, and a night observation in which participants used the planisphere to orient themselves and identify the local sky.
